SANDPIPER’S “LITTLE MINNOWS” SWIM SCHOOL

Now offering a three-day “swim school” for beginner swimmers…
It is a goal of Maplebrook I’s HOA Board of Directors as well as Lifeguard Team to provide new endeavors for the pool and community. Launching this summer, a “Little Minnows” swim class will be implemented for our little ones with the following detail:
- Three Days (August 4th, 5th & 6th)
- Two Sessions (11am to 11:30am or 11:30 to 12:00pm)
- Nine Swimmers per Session (with three lifeguard / instructors)
- Eighteen Beginner Swimmers in all can take advantage
Cost will be $50 per child (for families that are pool members), and $75 per child for non-members.
Students will learn the following curriculum:
Day 1: Water Comfort & Boundaries
Goal: Submerging the mouth/nose, blowing bubbles, and learning the “safety cue.”
Day 2: Floating & Breath Control
Goal: Back floating with support, dipping the face briefly, and kicking.
Day 3: Independence & Safety Skill
Goal: Combining kicking with reaches, and the “Turn and Grab” safety skill.
Please secure your registration for each child asap, as this is a first-come / first-serve swim class.
Families should plan to enter Sandpiper Pool with at least :10 minutes before each scheduled session (for check-In) and bring:
- Swimsuit, Sunscreen, Certified Swim Vest
- Towel, Change of Clothes, Goggles, Water Bottles
- Parents are welcome to drop off & pick-up following the times of each session
